Sometimes I play music.
In public, that’s usually at a piano or keyboard with the band, Standards & Substandards. You can track us down here and find some of our music there and on all the major streaming outlets. We play gigs near and far. Mostly we cover standards of the American songbook, jazz and otherwise, but we have a few originals that I wrote and brought to the band and then they made the songs better. You can grab samples of those from this playlist on Spotify.
Otherwise, most of my playing is by myself, working things out and finding respite in music when only the dog is around to judge. Occasionally I get to play solo shows in public places. That’s more rare and more of a step outside of my comfort zone, but I’m getting better at embracing it.
